Cape Scott is waaaaaaay off the beaten path which only contributes to it's jaw-dropping beauty. It's difficult to describe how amazing this place is. The energy is pure and soothing. It's one of my very favorite places on this little blue planet of ours.

I could have spent much more time here -- the Sea Stacks are amazing. Was going to return the following day to do the Fisherman Trail, the long, muddy and bumpy road in took away our enthusiasm. Next time.

Really enjoyed the 8-day backcountry hiking in the Park in August 2015. Camped the first night in Fisherman River two-site campground on the way from the parking lot to Nels Bight. Stayed a few nights on nice beach of Nels Bight and day-hiked in the area to Experiment Bight, Guise Bay, Cape Scott lighthouse, Hansen Lagoon. Then hiked back to San Josef Bay West beach and setup the camp there. The next hike to Lowrie Bay via Mt. St. Patrick summit and Sea Otter Cove was a highlight! Soaked in the rain crossing the marshes between Sea Otter Cove and Lowrie Bay. Stayed overnight in the Lowrie Bay shelter. Returned back to San Josef the same way. Minor route finding may be required in the North-East corner of Sea Otter Cove, which is always fun!

One of my absolute favourite hikes! Been there 3 times and planning my 4th. Nothing like cooking some Smokies and watching the sun set into the ocean.

Our hike up Cape Scott was one of my fondest memories. Truly beautiful and although the hike itself was at times ruthless, the feeling of emerging at the final beach was glorious. So beautiful. We would have loved if the second campsite had been in better repair at the time of our visit, but it's hard to complain. The whole experience was great! Highly recommended. But be sure to pack out what you pack in, and make the place even more pristine than when you arrived. (We did get a rock chip in our windshield from the long, gravelly, often pot-holed road we had to take to get there, so be warned).
